Terms of service

These terms apply to merchants who install Mint Loyalty ("the app"), made by Mint Labs ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.

The service

The app runs a points-based loyalty program on your Shopify store: it records points your customers earn and spend, creates the discount codes they redeem, and shows a rewards launcher, block and page on your storefront. We may improve or change features; we will not remove a paid feature you rely on without notice.

Your program

You decide the program's rules and rewards and are responsible for honouring them and for the terms you publish to your customers, including what happens to points if you pause or end the program. Points have no cash value unless you say otherwise. Rewards are Shopify discount codes and follow Shopify's discount rules at checkout.

Billing

Plans are billed by Shopify every 30 days in USD after the free trial. You can cancel at any time by changing plans or uninstalling the app. Charges are handled entirely by Shopify under Shopify's terms.

Availability and liability

We work to keep the app available, accurate and secure, but it is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid for the app in the 3 months before a claim.

Data processing addendum

When the app processes personal data of your customers on your behalf, you are the controller and we are the processor. We will:

  • process personal data only to provide the app's features, following your instructions given through the app's settings;
  • process only the minimum data needed: customers are identified by their Shopify customer ID; we store their points history, paid order IDs and amounts, reward codes and referral records; names and email addresses are fetched from Shopify only to display them to you and are never stored;
  • never sell personal data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models;
  • keep it confidential and limit access to authorised personnel;
  • encrypt it in transit (HTTPS) and at rest (Cloudflare D1 encryption at rest);
  • use Cloudflare (hosting and database) and Shopify as our only sub-processors;
  • keep program data while the app is installed, delete a customer's data when Shopify sends an erasure request, and delete all shop data after uninstall (shop redaction);
  • help you respond to data subject requests (the app lets you download a customer's data) and notify you without undue delay of any personal data breach.

Changes

We will post changes to these terms here and update the date above. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
